10 Days Old - Afternoon Update - 29th May

At 11.30am Isaac was extubated and was put on CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure). This was a big day for him. He did extremely well and lasted on CPAP for 12 hours. At 11pm that night he was very restless and needed to be be intubated (put back on the ventilator). Our lil guy did so so well to last that long and we have been told it can take several goes before micro-preemies are able to stay on the CPAP. His lungs are so premature and for his 1st effort (aside from his date of birth) at CPAP he did very well. He was quite a naughty lil man trying to pull apart the CPAP tubes and several times he actually managed to disconnect them, naughty lil man!
