13 Days Old - 1st June

Isaac became very critical throughout the night. The infection was very serious and quite agressive and his blood pressure became somewhat of a concern along with his lungs. We were called into the hospital that night and we have never been so scared for our lil guy, he was very, very sick. His lung drain also needed to be re-inserted as it wasn't sitting in the right spot. At this stage they were not aware what the infection was, blood cultures were taken, but were able to ascertain that he needed 3 lots of antibiotics, a steroid and 2 types of blood pressure medications along with another blood transfusion, he was also on the oscilator ventilator and this was also needing to be volumed up due to his lungs still being a huge concern. He was also retaining fluid which was a concern. After a harrowing 5 hours he stabilised. We now know the true meaning of a "long night".
