24 Days Old - 12th June
Isaac had a big day today. He was extubated and put onto CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure). He handled the CPAP very well and managed to stay on it for longer than he had ever had done so beforehand. Isaac also needed to have his 4th blood transfusion as his haemoglobin levels were low. This propped him up pretty quickly and you could see the change in his colour pretty much straight away. Mummy and Daddy were so proud of their lil warrior man, by the next morning he had managed longer than 24 hours on CPAP and it was looking as though he had settled into this kind of breathing assistance quite well. He was being such a brave, strong lil guy and we were so proud of him.
