15 Days Old - 3rd June

Today Isacc's eyes opened fully for the 1st time, it was so lovely to touch his head and hold his feet and have his eyes opened and although it's not quite known what they can actually see, I know he could see us and he knew it was Mummy touching him and looking at him. Such a treasured moment, one that I know we will never forget. He is so tiny, and he is such a little trooper. He really is a sweet lil man and a brave lil guy.

They did a repeat ultrasound on Isaac's leg today and they were unable to find the blood clot they had originally seen last week, which is a good sign that it has gone away. Isaac has been very active again, which on one hand means he is feeling better but also means he is not getting the required rest to re-coup from his infection. His morphine was increased today but even still he managed to keep moving his little arms and legs all over the place today - so much for the morphine sedating him. Due to his increased activity they started him back on his breastmilk and he manged to tolerate the feeds. Poor lil man - all he wanted was his food!! Mummy also got to change yet another poopy nappy which was yet another special moment (one that no Mother should ever take for granted)...

Mummy got to spend a lot of time touching Isaac today which at times would settle him down. He already has quite a strong little personality and we think at times he just wants to pull everything off of him and get out into the big wide world real quick. Isaac is being a strong lil guy and fighting very hard to beat this nasty infection. We continue to pray that he keeps up the fight and remains our lil warrior man.
