6 Week Update

Isaac has been a little up and down this past week.
His oxygen requirements have increased somewhat on the CPAP and the doctors have needed to alter his CPAP settings backwards a little and he is also been put back on a back-up rate as our lil man continues to have spurts of Apneas, where he forgets entirely to breathe and requires stimulation by a nurse and this episode is usually followed with a Bradychardia (short term Brady) whereby his heart rate decreases. These episodes are very frightening for a Mother and Father to witness and sometimes Isaac will turn a very dusky colour of blue which makes it all the more scary for both Mummy and Daddy. That all being said, it is very common for preemies to have these Bradys and Apneas (A&B's) and we have also learnt that little baby boys are more prone to them too. It is something which given time, they grow out of, underline the word Grow, as it is just literally a matter of time and lots of growing required for them to stop having them. On the topic of growth, Isaac has grown a fair bit this past week, he now weighs 1650 grams and his head size has grown from his birth size of 24.5 to a 27.5.

Overall, we continue to pray for continued Growth, Strength and Healing for our lil warrior man. We hope and pray he continues to do well, he has come a very long way from his 1st few weeks of life and each and every day he proves he is a strong lil guy. We love him so much and we appreciate all the prayers and love being sent our way for our lil man.
