Our little porky pie is putting weight on nicely. He has hit over the 4 kilo mark which had you seen him when he was born you would have thought it would take at least half a year for him to grow that big...it's so nice to see him putting on weight. We love his chunky little legs, his double chins and his little fat rolls, he even has little fat rolls behind/under his toes :-)
We are slowly getting used to putting Isaac in the pram and taking him for little trips, up until recently it was only permitted in the the NICU unit itself but as of just a few days ago Mummy and Isaac ventured up a couple of floors to make a special visit to mummy's friend Tanya. Isaac didn't do much except pollute the air in Tanya's room...poor Tan :) He is quite a windy little baby! As the days get slightly warmer we are hoping to make Isaac's first trip outside and this will be pretty exciting as he is yet to feel fresh air and sun on his face. Hoping for some warmth this coming weekend...stay tuned for the photos.
Our days and nights are filled with lots of cuddles, feeding times, and we are slowly introducing some play time. Isaac is starting to have more and more awake periods. He is quite a funny lil guy already and we can see each day little quirky things in his personality shining through.
Sleepy times
Quite often our lil man hides under the covers or probably just wants all the lights out!!
Feeding/Bottles
Isaac is doing really well with his bottles. He is picking up his bottle consumption throughout the day however the majority of his feeds during the night are still through his NGT. He is however getting stronger and demanding more suck feeds which is a huge improvement from just a week ago.
Getting Burped!

After the burp :-)
Sadly today Isaac had to say goodbye to his favourite Nurse Ange who is leaving to go to another hospital..and whom has done such a wonderful job of looking after our lil warrior man right from the begginning. Thanks Ange for everything that you have done in looking after our wee guy...you have been such a big part of our NICU journey and lately also in Special Care.
We will miss you!

You can just see in his eyes how much better he feels! He looks just wonderful Deb! Maybe Ange leaving means he soon will be leaving too! He wouldn't want to stay in the hospital without her, right? :) Thinking of you daily and so glad things are going so well with your little porker!! Just love him!

ReplyDeleteDeb - Anna Reid (Hudson), friend of Shiv's. Have been thinking of you as Shiv has always let me know where you were at with your babies and today I had a look at your blog. He is amazing - you've done such a great job and you've got this beautiful little boy, who looks pretty strong and healthy from here. So happy for you.
