Isaac's 7th-9th weeks @ Home

54 weeks (Gestational Age) = 14weeks Corrected Age

Latest weight 5730 grams = 12 pounds 10 ounces

So last post we mentioned that Isaac was visiting his respiratory physician. The appointment went well. They were happy with his growth and weight gain since the previous month and we were given a plan to commence the Weaning off Oxygen (O2) Process. We are two weeks down as of this coming friday. Needless to say this process is going to be Very Slow, (snails pace) and so far its been quite good (not to say there haven't been some hairy moments with his Apnea monitor going off)..but we are making progress. Isaac loves his prongs off time and cries somewhat when the duration he's allowed off comes to an end. To begin with he wasn't allowed to do much during the O2 time off period but we are slowly getting the confidence to bath him, have some play time, let him snooze if he wants to or feed him. And you know what?, It's pure Bliss being able to move around freely with our baby from room to room, and to even be able to go outside and sit in the garden without any Oxygen paraphenalia in tow...to be somewhat normal so to speak. It's lovely being able to scoop him up into our arms and enjoy him without getting tangled up in his chords, or to lay him down without worry the tube might get caught...and it's so nice to see him free, you can tell he just loves it!! As i said earlier Snails Pace, Slow and Steady wins the Race and Isaac will get there...on his time!

Our little guy is really growing up before our very eyes. He is startng to really interact. He laughs and giggles and Coos and Arghhs..it's so nice to watch him thriving! He is gradually starting to grasp things, he touches his toys and pushes them with his hands, standing on his feet and taking the weight(so we tried out the Jolly jumper). He has also really started to use his voice, making different sounds, his Maternal health Nurse who visits him at home once a week said today after her visit "wow he is really growing up, look at you talking to me now Isaac, telling me how it is"...I laughed and thought hmmmnn I wonder where he gets that from...not me.. :)
